Our beautiful nursery at Thrybergh is looking for an passionate and dedicated Deputy Nursery Manager to join our curiosity approach nursery. We're looking for a minimum L3 qualified team member with at least 3 years experience to work 30 - 40 hours per week. Main duties and responsibilities:
• to be responsible for the day-to-day management of the nursery in the absence of the Nursery Manager.
• To effectively manage the staff team and support the Manager/Area Manager with the recruitment of new staff.
• To ensure that all nursery policies and procedures are adhered to by all users of the nursery.
• to work as part of a team to deliver an ambitious, flexible curriculum which is driven by the children’s interests.
• To ensure your pedagogy has different approaches to meet individual children’s needs e.g., modelling, observing.
• To ensure all environments are enabling.
• To have a good knowledge of child development to accurately observe and assess children.
Operational Responsibilities
• to support the Nursery Manager in ensuring that the nursery conforms to and exceeds the requirements of Ofsted and is always ready for inspection ensuring the minimum awarded grade is Good.
• to ensure that the nursery consistently meets the requirements set out in the Early Years Foundation Stage to a minimum ‘good’ standard.
• to keep the Nursery Manager and Area Manager up to date with any situations that may be detrimental to the company and any complaints received.
• To ensure that minimum staffing ratios are met and always maintained within the nursery.
• To support the Nursery Manager in maintaining regular staff supervisions, assessing the performance of all staff through regular management observations and peer on peer observations and ensuring poor performance is identified and dealt with through clear targets and goals, realistic timescales, monitoring and all meetings are documented in detail.
