About The Role

Job Title: Quantity Surveyor | Location PMP Utilities, Bentley Wood Way, Burnley, B11 5ST

Delivering what we promise

As our next Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be instrumental in aiding the Commercial Manager with the Commercial Management of PMP, including cost control, cash collection, WIP management, forecasting and procurement. Your remit will be to support our commercial team to ensure our contracts run smoothly and to budget.

PMP Utilities, part of M Group Services, forms part of our MEICA Business Unit, PMP Utilities are an established industry leader providing single sourced solutions within the field of Engineering. We specialise at mechanical engineering in confined spaces predominately for the water utility sector. Our areas of expertise include bespoke engineering solutions, mechanical maintenance, hazardous areas and confined spaces, Amex-10 internal pipe joint repair system, project management and preventive maintenance.

You're not the type to shy away from challenges, as you will be responsible for managing contract records and assisting with the production of statistical and financial reporting. In this role, you'll be dealing with a variety of stakeholders and maintaining professional relationships with all parties involved.

As a Quantity Surveyor, you are motivated by finding solutions to complex issues and you would thrive on managing the financial aspects of projects. Your remit would be to ensure the smooth running of contracts and the safety of all project activities.

The Key Requirements...

- A degree/HND or equivalent in Commercial Management/Quantity Surveying or other construction related subject or substantial previous experience in a similar position
- Prior experience in a Commercial role and/or in the M&E, Construction/Civils or Water sectors preferred but not essential
- A commercially and contractually astute person that takes ownership of performance
- Excellent IT skills / Microsoft Office proficient (in particular Microsoft Excel) or Google Sheets
- Strong organisational skills and ability to proactively plan and work to multiple deadlines
