Teaching Personnel Essex Branch are seeking Cover Supervisors to join our growing and successful SEN Staff Team. We are always on the hunt for budding Cover Supervisors but in the current climate we are seeking staff who are happy to go into SEN / Pupil Referral Unit Schools for the rest of the Summer Term 2024.

What is a Cover Supervisor?

Cover supervisors are suitably trained school staff who supervise pupils carrying out pre-prepared exercises when teaching staff are on short-term absence. The cover supervisor's main job is to manage a classroom, ensuring that students remain on task with the work they have been set.

This role can typical involve:

· Supervising / covering lessons already planned and set for a class

· Managing pupil behaviour for any class you are assigned cover with and implement schools behaviour policy if required

· Be flexible and able to provide cover across a range of subjects and key stages

· Be able to provide 1:1 support and answer questions about processes and procedures in line with the school policy

· Keeping pupils on task to complete their work

What qualities do you need to become a Cover Supervisor?

· Good communications skills

· Good Behaviour Management skills

· To enjoy working with young people with SEN

· Passion for Education

· Charisma and resilient

This role is to help support an SEN school with their classes in a teaching capacity!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
