Do you enjoy working in Communications? Are you interested in joining the National Science and Media Museum as we reveal the transformation of one of Bradford's key cultural institutions in the UK City of Culture 2025?
About the role
As Senior Press Officer, you will have a unique opportunity to engage with national broadcast, print and online media and play your part in successful integrated, multi-channel communications campaigns.
The purpose of this role is to be an integral part of the Communications team at the National Science and Media Museum as it approaches a once-in-a-generation moment, with the transformative Sound and Vision project coming to fruition. This, alongside Bradford's status as UK City of Culture 2025, will give the Senior Press Officer a unique opportunity to engage with national broadcast, print and online media and play a crucial role in the execution of the museum's integrated, multi-channel communications strategy.
In this fixed term post (until April 2025), you will foster media relationships and assist in the management of the Museum's digital channels to tell compelling and authentic stories about the Museum and its collections, exhibitions, cinemas, events, and festivals.
About you
Joining us, you will bring experience of working with the media - for example, you may have worked in an in-house Communications team at Coordinator or Assistant level, or at exec level in an agency. You will enjoy getting involved, pitching story ideas, and thinking about how we can shine a light on the Museum and our exciting plans. You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to produce creative and effective PR and communications copy for a range of purposes. You will be collaborative and adaptable, with an ability to build solid working relationships with your team and with other colleagues across the museum, as well as external partners.
Don't feel you meet all the criteria? We welcome you to apply even if your experience doesn't match directly. With your transferable skills, you could be the right candidate for this, or other opportunities that we have.
