Summary
A new substantive opportunity has arisen for a band 7 Deputy Quality & Safety manager with the radiotherapy service at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. Experienced radiographers who may have an interest in progressing into a quality management role in the future are encouraged to consider this opportunity.
This role will work alongside the Quality & Safety Manager supporting governance and quality matters within Radiotherapy & Radiation Physics departments as well as supporting similar activities across the Oncology & Palliative Care Directorate. A key part of the role will be supporting maintenance of ISO 9001 certification as well as managing the reporting of radiotherapy patient safety incidents.
Operating mainly from our Charing Cross site, our equipment portfolio includes five TrueBeam Linacs, New Siemens go.Open Pro CT scanner and Xstrahl unit; our Elekta Flexitron Brachytherapy unit is based at Hammersmith Hospital in a dedicated brachytherapy suite. Two of our TrueBeam Linacs have the ExacTrac system and we have implemented SGRT on our Hammersmith Hospital linac.
We actively support professional development and encourage radiographer led research and QI projects. We support leadership development with excellent leadership development programmes delivered by the trust and have adopted all of our clinical and physics workforce as Macmillan professionals. We also support flexible working arrangements with some of our team already working 9 day fortnights. All applicants would be expected to be able to support the working hours of the service including on-call working at weekends.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and dynamic individual who are willing to help us continually develop our practice and move the department forward through research and quality improvement. • To be responsible for the management of performance data within radiotherapy including activity, coding compliance with targets, and RTDS/SRS data requirements.
• To support with the coordination, implementation, and continuous development of a culture of safe, high quality care in the Radiotherapy service, through effective and robust integrated governance processes and procedures, including statutory and regulatory compliance.
• To support the achievement and maintenance of CHKS Accreditation and associated ISO 9001:2015 Certification of the Radiotherapy service, and assist in the setting, management, and reporting of performance standards.
• To support with the coordination, implementation, and continuous development of a quality improvement culture within the Radiotherapy service.
