Starting salary: £29,460 inclusive of Outer London High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS). Both of our Education Centres are based in Outer London. After training salary will be £29,460 if posted Outer London, £30,279 if posted Inner London. What we can offer: As an AAP you will be working with an established and experienced team. You will gain hands on experience meeting and treating a diverse range of patients. Training and continued professional development will also further enhance your clinical skills. We are currently only posting new Assistant Ambulance Practitioners to stations across North-West, North or East London. The Trust has a transfer register and will move staff to other stations as and when vacancies become available. Job description All applicants need to have a current B class driving licence, valid in the UK & hold Full or Provisional C1 license status. (Allows you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes) Please note you must hold: Relevant English & Maths Qualification, please refer to attached qualification list Full or Provisional C1 driving licence at the time of application Become a qualified heavy goods vehicle (HGV) or bus driver: Applying for a provisional HGV or bus licence - GOV.UK (www.gov.uk) Please note after submission of your application we will request evidence of qualification and driving license summary. Clinical: As directed by 999 Operations, respond as a crew to emergency calls and convey patients to treatment centres, hospitals or emergency departments as and when appropriate. This will involve using blue light driving skills as appropriate. Communication: Maintain regular and appropriate communications with 999 Operations regarding updates and changes to personal and/or vehicle availability and movements. Professional and Standards:Act at all times as an ambassador for the LAS by maintaining high standards of personal conduct reflecting service values. Qualified and Experienced pathway If you already hold previous Ambulance experience and qualifications you may be eligible for our Qualified and experienced pathway. This includes qualified Band 4 AAP (Assistant Ambulance Practitioner) or Band 5 EMT (Emergency Medical Technician). You must hold For the qualified AAP role: Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving and Level 3 Diploma in Ambulance Emergency and Urgent Care Support For qualified EMT route: Level 3 Certificate in Emergency Response Ambulance Driving and Level 4 Diploma in Associate Ambulance Practitioner In addition you must also hold qualifications listed on the relevant English & Maths Qualification, please refer to attached qualification list. Pre-Apprenticeship route We also provide another pathway to our Assistant Ambulance Practitioner Apprenticeship programme. You can guarantee yourself an interview by successfully completing the four-week Our London Ambulance Service Inclusive Response (OLIR) programme.
