Research Integrity Assistant - Publishing Company
Contract: 12 Month Contract
Location: Remote
Salary: up to £225 per day, outside of IR35
SRG are working with a Leading British Publishing company to help them find a Research Integrity Assistant to join their busy team. This role is open to graduates with at least 1 or 2 job roles within the industry.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Work closely with the team to drive research integrity investigations
- Check articles for integrity of authorship, content, data and key ethics statements.
- Assist the ethics team with contacting authors and assessing files requested from authors
- Where required, assist in identifying experts to provide advice on specific articles
- Work with the ethics team and editorial teams on organising post-publication notices.
- Handle confidential information confidently and sensitively, with consideration for the legal and ethical issues that may arise from any mishandling
Candidate Requirements:
- Research background in a relevant discipline.
- Editorial experience in assessing scientific manuscripts for quality and integrity of content.
- Experience as an Asst Editor / Editor / Managing Editor, ideally within a publishing house.
- Strong understanding of various research methods and practices.
- Have a Life Sciences or Bio Medical Degree is ideal but is not essential.
- Must understand and have used scientific methodologies in education/working career as you will be working around Scientific journals.
- Some experience of publishing ethics is also ideal but not essential.
