About The Role
Morrison Electricity Transmission (MESET) is recruiting for a Lead Design Engineer – Substations Civils (LDE) to join our growing design team in the UK.
As a/the LDE you will be part of our Transmission Design Team who are responsible for all permanent and temporary works design support on contracts for NG, SSE, SPEN and the full range of UK DNOs.
As the Lead Design Engineer your responsibilities will include:
Manage day to day civil substation design activities, liaising closely with the Design Delivery Manager - Substations.
- To providing technical support to Design Engineers, Project Engineers, Site Engineers, and clients.
- To liaise closely with the Design Delivery Manager - Substations, other Senior Design Engineers and internal/external customers ensuring project, programme and budgetary controls at all times.
- To perform the role of Contractor Design Assurance Engineer (CDAE)
Skills & Knowledge Requirements
- B.Eng or BSc in Civil or Structural Engineering, with honours, or HND plus relevant design experience in Transmission & Distribution substation sector.
- Holds or actively working towards professional chartered status.
- Considerable experience on civil substation design with extensive knowledge of National Grid specifications, British Standards, and other UK TNO and DNO design standards.
