Responsible for:
Maintaining and developing the companies ‘BSi approved’ QMS Quality Management System (ISO9001), and consistently achieving High Quality of Internal and Externally sourced products.
To work to achieve additional quality systems for Health & Safety, ISO 45001 and Environmental ISO14001.
General Duties:
To run a quality system that enables the company to consistently procure and manufacture finished goods to a satisfactory quality which meets UK and European product regulations, while meeting the financial objectives of the company. To handle various tasks as and when required to ensure the efficient running of quality function.
Key Tasks
1. Maintain and develop the quality management system to ensure that the company ISO9001 approval is maintained.
2. To work on the introduction of ISO14001 and ISO45001
3. To carry out audits of company’s procedures
4. Prepare monthly management meetings, and report to the senior management team.
5. To work with other departments to ensure company objectives are met.
6. To control and enter all finished goods and component part numbers and BOM’s.
7. Audit suppliers on performance against ethical, quality and environmental standards.
8. Ensure the analysis of defective material is conducted.
9. To arrange for all faulty and rejected components and goods to be returned to suppliers.
10. To control and ensure all rework is completed to requisite quality levels.
11. To examine stock reports monthly.
12. To agree and maintain quarantine stock locations for warehouse and goods-in areas.
13. To ensure that the quality of incoming goods is verified where possible on the same-day, or certainly within 24 hours of arrival.
14. Manage third party pre shipping quality inspections as required.
Environmental and regulatory
15. To provide information to ‘Valpack’ and customers on packaging and waste.
16. To provide information (where necessary & agreed) to customers on materials used in products and manufacture.
17. To Control changes to product updates and ensure goods In/Warehouse & CSC/Sales know
18. To manage the business Continuity Plan (B.C.P) system ensuring department managers can conduct necessary tasks.
Key Skills:
Numerate and IT literate.
Competent operating Microsoft Office packages
Qualified in an engineering discipline preferably electrical/electronic engineering bias.
Has ideally worked in a manufacturing environment but with an understanding and commercial background.
Commercially aware hands-on engineer who has had direct interaction with both customers and suppliers. Experience dealing with China based suppliers is an advantage.
Holds BSI or equivalent Internal Auditors qualification or greater.
Already in a QA role
Knowledge of application standard and directives
Some knowledge of MRP
Versed in statistical analysis.
Capable of project management.
Good Communicator & able to present to Snr. Management as required.
