LECTURER - CRIMINOLOGY (Eastbourne)
Part time, 18.5 hours per week, permanent contract.
Up to £39,808 p.a. pro rata.

An enthusiastic, well-qualified and experienced professional is required to join our A Level team as part of our growing A level course provision at Eastbourne campus. The postholder will be required to be able to teach on the Level 3 Criminology course which forms part of our A level programme. In addition, candidates would benefit from having the relevant expertise and qualifications to teach on A Level Sociology if required. You will be delivering Criminology alongside another teacher, and a willingness therefore to work collaboratively and learn new knowledge is crucial to the role.

Excellent communication and organisational skills are required. Successful candidates will have a clear understanding of the importance of raising the standard of teaching, intervening, and using a range of strategies to raise achievement. Knowledge and experience of monitoring student progress and effective use of student data systems to intervene and raise standards are also essential for this post. We welcome applications from candidates at any stage of their career. These include those who are currently studying Criminology or another related degree either at undergraduate or postgraduate level, or those candidates who are currently studying their PGCE. The successful candidate will bring the right mix of energy, commitment and vision to an ambitious and supportive department.

We can offer you:

• A competitive salary, a wide range of generous benefits, as well as flexible working opportunities.
• Rewarding employment in a high performing, professional environment, working with over 1,200 like-minded and friendly colleagues.
• Continuing Professional Development, with access to funded teaching qualifications, apprenticeships and a range of other training courses to support career development.
• The opportunity to make a difference to the lives of students of all ages within the largest Further Education (FE) College in East Sussex (judged GOOD by Ofsted in 2021).

This post is subject to a DBS check.

Closing date: 19th June 2024.
