Interim Investment Planning Manager - Asset Strategy Team

Pay Rate: £277.11 per day PAYE

37 Monday to Friday, normal working hours

This opening assignment is for 6 months

City: Bristol

Project Manage the annual Housing budget setting process. Producing and maintaining top-down and bottom-up 2, 5, 10, 30 year and life-cycle year investment scenarios. (Revenue and CAPEX). Undertake Appraisal Analysis for required investment decisions that quantify the value-for-money.

Implement and deliver a proactive stakeholder management process so the investment plans are supported. Lead and maintain the efficiency and innovation opportunities programme.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Manage and deliver the annual Housing budget setting process. This will involve coordinating inputs from multiple stakeholders from across the organisation and formulating a several investment options for consideration.
Monitoring the agreed budget to help inform the setting of the subsequent budgets.
Produce and maintain top-down and bottom-up 2, 5, 10, 30 year and life-cycle year investment scenarios. (Revenue and CAPEX).
Undertake Appraisal Analysis for required investment decisions that quantify the value-for-money, plus understand the wider benefits to the organisation.
Manage and lead a team of technical staff in a way that maximises their productivity and growth.
Lead the response to any internal or external questions about the housing asset investment plan.
Commission and manage projects from the supply chain by providing a clear scope of works, access to the information required to complete the scope and manage the delivery to ensure it creates value.
Lead and maintain the efficiency and innovation opportunities programme. This will involve identifying and capturing opportunities to reduce the Housing costs through the implementation of different working practices or the use of technology.

Qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant financial, mathematical or STEM related discipline or demonstrable equivalent experience

Knowledge:

An understanding of supply chain planning including demand and supply modelling, and procurement planning.

Experience:

Significant experience in investment planning and financial forecasting.

Skills & Abilities:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills to understand, negotiate and deliver effective information and analysis products to a wide range of audiences
Ability to use and apply project management methodology - accurately and effectively in the delivery of work packages.
Able to demonstrate knowledge and/or experience of equalities and diversity issues.
A capability to undertake economic appraisal of investment needs including quantification of one-off and ongoing costs, benefits quantification, NPV analysis, risk analysis and report preparation.
Ability to lead, motivate and develop technical staff, collaborating and providing technical advice and supporting staff development.
A capability to undertake data analysis and generate report describing the approach and findings. This includes the ability to use MS Excel or other data analysis software products.
Ability to identify and secure opportunities for collaboration across services and partners and implement resultant capabilities and products.
