Your new companyOur clients is one of the largest construction companies in the UK and can offer unrivalled career opportunities to their junior commercial team from graduate quantity surveyors upwards. A busy project team in Edinburgh is seeking to appoint an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team.
Your new roleAs Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will be reporting directly to a Senior QS and Commercial Manager on residential developments in Edinburgh. Depending on your experience you will be exposed to fundamental construction processes such as subcontractor procurement and payments and in this role your experience will develop rapidly. As your experience develops you will get more involved in cost reporting and budgeting. Based on-site you will learn how to operate in a busy project environment where your communication skills will develop appropriately.
What you'll need to succeedOur client are seeking a recent graduate who has a degree in quantity surveying. You will perhaps have some commercial experience from your time in University or are currently in your first role but you are looking to get more hands on-site and do real quantity surveying. You see yourself as working with a good builder and developing your career in this direction rather than client side or PQS. You are ambitious and understand that thriving on a busy project will take your career forward massively and accelerate your professional and personal development. You are commercially driven and get a real sense of satisfaction achieving a positive commercial outcome for your employer.
