An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and conscientious individual to join the Human Research Tissue Bank and Cambridge Brain Bank team as our Quality Lead.We are seeking a highly motivated individual with a positive attitude to change and a proven record of team working and leadership as well as evidence of resource and project management. You should have knowledge of relevant statutory regulations such as the Human Tissue Act, ISO accreditation and laboratory health and safety and be able to demonstrate practical experience of implementation of quality management systems, audit, competency assessment and risk assessment. Excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential. HCPC registration is desirable.
Tissue banking involves the collection, storage and distribution of consented human tissue samples from the living and the deceased, using histology-based techniques. Material is supplied from this resource alongside samples accessed from the clinical archives for use in ethically approved research projects including an extensive clinical trial workload, early detection studies and personalised medicine programmes. Both Tissue and Brain Bank operate under the governance of the CUH HTA research licence and report to CUH Pathology Directorate so compliance with HTA regulations in addition to ISO 20387 Biobanking standards is essential.
Practice as the Quality Leadfor Human Research Tissue Bank (HRTB) and Cambridge Brain Bank (CBB).
Demonstrate expertise in quality and risk management.
Be the key member of the department, who promotes, implements, audits and maintains the quality management system.
Practice as the Risk Officer for HRTB & CBB.
Apply modern methods of quality management and process control to ensure an effective service in terms of clinical governance and risk management.
