• Up to 50 hours per week, working days , no shifts…no nights
We are recruiting multiple contract mechanical and electrical engineers for short term contracts to support a manufacturing site shutdown and machinery overhaul. Start date July 29th. This is a prebooking for your skills if you are available for a short-term contract from that date. Maintenance is crucial to ensure the longevity and efficiency of machinery and equipment on the site. Shutdown maintenance holds a pivotal position. You will assist with the shutdown maintenance onsite for a minimum of 2 weeks completing plant overhaul
Role Responsibilities – Contract Shutdown PPM Engineers
• Undertaking shutdown maintenance, planned maintenance, developing a proactive approach to maintaining and improving the reliability of industrial assets on a manufacturing site
• To undertake necessary maintenance, repairs, inspections, and upgrades
• Responsible for a combination of planned maintenance and technical challenges to ensure maximum line efficiency
• Carry out planned preventative maintenance on a range of automation machinery including pneumatics, hydraulics, conveyors and robots
• Aim of continually improving performance of equipment and systems to support the development of the site
• Manage the Planned Preventative Maintenance program
• Managing the engineering root cause analysis process (RCA)
• Agree preventative electrical maintenance plans
• Your aim, in line with realising the benefits of shutdown maintenance include improved equipment life, efficiency , safety and reducing operational costs
• Carry out identified modifications and improvements
• Implement, create and support planned preventative maintenance schemes
• Actively support continuous improvement projects and activities by challenging existing practices and making recommendations
• Monitor the efficiency of equipment and identify problem areas to proactively implement improvements
• Working with Site engineering planners to create and feedback on PPM’s
• Work with shift engineers completing PPM’s and investigating breakdowns
Qualifications & Requirements – Contract Shutdown PPM Engineers
• Apprentice trained or NVQ level 3 in an engineering discipline in electrical mechanical in maintenance engineering
• A proactive approach to fault finding
• A commitment to continuous improvement and personal development
• Experience of shutdowns or factory overhauls ideal, multi-skilled would be ideal
• Relevant Engineering experience in manufacturing strongly preferred
• Experience in using CMMS
• Experience in the detail of PPM
