Playquip Leisure is a playground equipment manufacturer based in Alresford, just outside Colchester in Essex, our products include a full range of play items, safety surfacing including wet pour and bonded mulch, seating, fencing, ball courts and all other products associated with public play areas and parks.
We are looking for a candidate to take on the role of installations Forman, it is essential that the candidate has a good background knowledge in the construction industry and have experience in similar leadership roles.
Full product training will be provided to the successful candidate during the 12-week trial period.
The candidate should be hard working and conscientious, punctual and willing to work under pressure to meet completion deadlines imposed by our clients.
The day-to-day duties will include:
• Organisation the daily activities of the installation team.
• Supervising the daily loading vehicles for each installation.
• Ensure vehicles are kept clean and operational at all times.
• Carry out toolbox talks and check consumables regularly.
• Set out equipment on-site in liaison with the client.
• Oversee all installations ensuring quality, cleanliness and safety standards are maintained at all times.
• Carry out final quality checks on all installations prior to leaving site.
• Calculate quantities and order materials and consumables required for each job.
• Work closely with the General Manager, providing regular progress reports and liaise with manufacturing team on delivery times of equipment.
This position is a permanent position within our Company subject to suitability and level of achievements over the initial 12 week trial period.
The role will involve heavy lifting and working outside in all types of weather conditions.
Applicants will start and finish at our factory in Alresford just outside Colchester.
General installation activities will include:
• Excavating holes by hand for the installation of various types of play equipment and associated products.
• Assembling equipment using sockets sets and various fixing methods, ensure all work is level and upright before concreting into position.
• Installation of various types of safety surfacing, which will include mixing and laying resin bonded rubber products.
• Maintenance and repairs to existing play products.
• Driving Company vehicles which include large vans and tippers.
• Driving vehicles towing trailers.
• Using various items of machinery and equipment to include, petrol mixers, diesel mixers, drills, grinders and other power tools, also 3600 mini diggers and small dumpers as may be required in the execution of the tasks.
• Erecting fencing, both permanent and temporary security types
