Do you aspire to be a clinical leader of the future? Would you relish the opportunity to play a part in delivering the commitments of the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan in the north west region as part of a newly formed Health and Care Education team?

We are looking for highly motivated, HCPC-registered allied health professionals (AHP) to support our senior clinical leaders to deliver on workforce priorities at a regional level. The scheme is ideal for emerging clinical/professional leaders who are interested in developing their systems thinking, strategic leadership, and project management skills.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the development and delivery of workforce policy and gain experience of working at a system level. You will be part of a cohort of Clinical Fellows from a variety of professional backgrounds. The part-time nature of the post will enable you to continue your clinical practice and put your newfound skills and understanding to use straight away. You will need to secure support from your substantive employer to release you for the duration of the secondment and to work with us to support your development via a tripartite arrangement.

You need to be able to evidence existing managerial experience, the ability to lead, empower and motivate others, and knowledge of NHS policies. Successful delivery is dependent on the ability to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.

You will be expected to lead on a defined workforce development/improvement project across the region and share the outcomes from your work with key stakeholders at the end of the year, in addition to supporting the Allied Health Professions team deliver their business plan.

As part of your secondment you will have protected learning time to enable you to undertake a recognised development programme such as the NHS Leadership Academy Foundations in System Leadership programme, or other appropriate option. You will also have access to development opportunities surrounding project management and work with a formal coach/mentor.

After fellowship completion, you will have the opportunity to be part of an NHS England Clinical Fellows Alumni for 12 months to support you with continued career development.

In the North West Workforce, Education & Training Directorate we are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive culture and a workforce which represents the communities we serve. We welcome applications from everyone and we encourage applications from candidates with neurodiversity, disabilities, and candidates from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds who are currently under-represented in our workforce.

• Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
• Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
• Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
• Delivering value for money.
