We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children's learning and well-being. Our school is seeking a Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the 2022 Curriculum for Wales and be able to support the class teacher in delivering high-quality education. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent communication skills, empathy, and a proactive approach to supporting pupils in their educational journey. What skills and experience we are looking for:
● Provide support across the Primary Phase, with a particular emphasis on nurturing and positive reinforcement.
● Deliver interventions to support emotional well-being and literacy/numeracy development.
● Assist the class teacher in planning and implementing engaging learning activities.
● Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
● Build positive relationships with students, parents, and staff.
Requirements:
● Experience working across primary age groups
● Positive disposition and nurturing approach to working with children.
● Experience delivering interventions to support emotional well-being and literacy/numeracy.
● Preferably trained in Thrive and/or ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant).
● Preferably trained in Lego Therapy and Talkabout
● Experience and strong evidence of success in interventions for literacy, including reading interventions and numeracy.
● Experience of delivering Speech and Language Interventions
● Ability to speak Welsh
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
