The successful candidate will have service management responsibility for the operational running of one of our neighbourhoods within Lewisham Adult community services, and one other core service. You will provide exemplary leadership to staff, ensuring national and local targets are achieved and exceeded whilst the services meet the diverse needs of the population that we serve.

We are looking for an exceptional candidate with a significant level of experience and the ability to manage a busy operational role whilst undertaking service delivery and performance responsibilities. We are looking for an applicant with an energy and passion to drive forward change.

The Service Manager will work closely with peers whilst managing one of the four neighbourhood teams leading both primary and secondary care services. Following the community pilot model which is already operating in a designated neighbourhoods with swift access to the Primary Care Network’s within their locality and providing a seamless flow between primary and secondary care services we are looking towards provision of whole population health within a strengths based approach and intervention lead services.



About the location:

You will be based at one of two locations, Churchdown Community Mental Health Centre in Lewisham

The Service Manager will be responsible for the
Provision of leadership to a Lewisham community neighbourhood team in conjunction with the ‘lead’ consultant and Team Manager to co-ordinate, develop and manage the service’s strategic and operational plans

-Management of the clinical teams to ensure integrated clinical, operational, quality and financial outcomes are achieved within the service line.

-Joint accountability with the lead clinician to ensure good throughput management utilising demand and capacity information.
-Exercising systematic clinical governance of their professional practice and that of the team
-Active engagement in continuing professional development, including use of management & clinical supervision
-Ensuring access to adequate and robust supervision for staff in the service
-Provision of specialist components of the service by coordinating and planning, considering the training, skill mix and experience of the team alongside the leadership team
-Development of services within an appropriate and effective care model in partnership with senior colleagues within the directorate.
-Ensuring high quality specialist assessment of individuals referred to the service
-Ensuring high quality group and individual clinical interventions within the service
-Developing and maintaining collaborative professional relationships with mental health workers across the system including the voluntary sector and social care.
