This post will be responsible for undertaking literature searches and training to support trust-wide staff in pursuit of patient care, research and CPD. This will include ensuring that sessions are evaluated and accurately recorded and completing impact interviews on aspects of service provision. Outreach to teams both in person and virtually will be part of this with emphasis on building relationships with quality improvement, research and innovation and management colleagues.
You should be a confident and skilled communicator able to engage all types of staff and all levels and receive positive feedback.
You will also need to carry out general library duties as required including dealing with enquiries from library users, maintaining in the library inbox, and obtaining items from other services using established systems.
This post is key to delivering a literature search service using both the NHS Knowledge and Library Hub and specific native interfaces such as those produced by EBSCO, OVID and Proquest. Using the same resources you will train colleagues in searching for evidence to support patient care, research, service improvement and their own CPD. You will also provide support for assignments, critical appraisal and reflective writing.
You will be a knowledgeable and experienced searcher who is confident using a variety of NHS and other resources to produce accurate and timely information for colleagues, often meeting tight deadlines.
You will be a team player, supporting other library team members and making suggestions regarding service provision and improvement.
