Position Overview:

As a General Foreman, you will play a pivotal role in the successful execution of our water site projects. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, ensuring safety standards are met, and managing a team of skilled workers to deliver projects on time and within budget. This is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned professional with a strong background in water infrastructure projects to make a significant impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.
  • Coordinate and supervise the activities of site personnel, including subcontractors, laborers, and equipment operators.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Monitor project progress, ensuring timelines and milestones are met.
  • Liaise with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to resolve any issues and ensure smooth project execution.
  • Maintain accurate records of site activities, including daily logs, material usage, and labour hours.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the planning and scheduling of project tasks and resources.
  • Provide training and mentoring to site staff, promoting professional development and a positive work culture.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a General Foreman or similar role in water site or civil engineering projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, techniques, and best practices specific to water infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
  • In-depth understanding of safety regulations and a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with various stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in using construction management software and tools.
  • Relevant certifications and licenses, such as CSCS, SMSTS, or equivalent, are highly desirable.
  • A valid driver's license.
