Life Skills Coach | Hull | Full Time – 37.5 hours per week | £23,400 - £25,000 per annum
Our client is dedicated to providing affordable housing for those in need, making a real difference in the community. As the Life Skills Coach, you will work with tenants, to enable them to identify and develop their strengths, interests, skills and goals, and to achieve positive outcomes.
You will work closely with a small housing team to provide help and support for the organisation’s new and existing tenants. You will be expected to work across all aspects of a supported, sustained tenancy.

• Experience of working with disadvantaged people
• A good understanding of the issues faced by people on low income
• A good knowledge of the agencies available to provide support to vulnerable people
• Experience of using Microsoft Office
• Good communication skills
• Effective time management
• Ability to prioritise and manage workloads
• Commitment to the organisation’s values and equal opportunities
• Demonstrate and respond to the diverse requirements and needs of individuals
• To encourage individuals to value diversity and challenge behaviour which undermines the ethos of equality
• Ability to represent the company, and develop relationships in a professional manner
What will your key responsibilities be?
• Provide personalised, one-to-one coaching and support to tenants
• Deliver a strength-based coaching package to maximize tenant independence based on an initial assessment
• Identify and focus on tenant personal goals
• Create and update support plans for each tenant
• Create and update risk assessments for each tenant
• Advocate for tenants as needed
• Encourage tenant participation in services and activities, including the Volunteer Programme
• Provide emotional support to tenants
• Challenge negative lifestyle choices and promote accountability
• Prepare and support tenants for independent accommodation
• Empower tenants to promote independence and wellbeing
• Encourage tenants to develop healthy habits, such as exercise and social activities
• Assist tenants in seeking and attending mental health support
• Maintain regular contact with tenants as per organisational expectations
• Keep up-to-date diary notes, risk assessments, and support plans
• Report safeguarding issues to the Safeguarding Officer, social services, or police
• Collaborate with statutory and voluntary agencies supporting tenants
• Stay current with required training
• Complete any other required tasks
• Follow the organisation's policies and procedures
