An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated individual to join our dynamic Medical Workforce team. We are looking for an experienced and forward-thinking professional to join us at this exciting time to provide specialist expert advice for Junior Doctors regarding on-call rotas and Medical & Dental terms and conditions.
The post holder will work across the Trust, liaising with Clinical Business Units and medical staff at all levels, to ensure that the Medical Workforce function is operationally efficient to deliver an effective service across the organisation. You will assist with delivery of medical workforce changes, provide a key source of expert knowledge and understanding of national medical workforce agendas, including Medical & Dental Terms & Conditions of Service, job planning and rota design.
Supporting the Head of Medical Workforce, the post holder will support the operational running of juniors’ doctor rotas within the divisions and use financial and workforce information to support the divisions and tumour sites.
You will have a strong team ethic, sense of accountability, accompanied by an ability to work under pressure.
This post will have line management responsibility for the two Junior Doctor Rota Managers.

The Medical Staffing Operations Manager will develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the delivery of the relevant services and monitor delivery against these and agree them with the divisions prior to implementation. They will be responsible for targeted service improvement, ensuring governance standards are met.
The Medical Staffing Operations Manager will use specialist knowledge and experience of medical staffing terms and conditions, national strategies, policies and procedures to expertly support the divisions with managing the recruitment and rotation and operational management of their medical and dental staff of all levels.

• Design and monitoring of junior doctor rotas within the divisions to ensure the best service is provided, in compliance with the junior doctor contract.
• Work with others (including the medical workforce team and the DME) on the design and maintenance of local induction programmes for new recruits
• Ensure all rota templates are up to date and shared with medical workforce on a regular basis to maintain up to date information on work patterns, appropriate remuneration and working pattern compliance.
• To support the divisions on rota management; working towards maintaining full compliance and identifying risks and possible ways to mitigate risk.
• To support the work of the Divisional Directors and Director of Medical Education/ Guardian of Safe Working in responding to rota concerns and supporting the development of solutions by attending rota review meetings where necessary.
