Do you have a passion for delivering welcoming volunteering and training
programmes?

As part of a major project to redevelop Ipswich Museum, our Volunteer and Training Coordinator will promote, develop and manage volunteering, work placements, interns and training opportunities at Ipswich Museums.

Ipswich Museum is undergoing an extensive redevelopment project, which will transform the building, displays and our relationships with our local communities. As part of that we want to grow our volunteering programme. You’ll play a key role in organising our current volunteers, as well as developing new roles, such as Family Volunteering and Young Explainers, to broaden our offer and help diversify the volunteer team.

Training is also an important part of this role. You will develop and manage the volunteer and staff training programme, ensuring volunteers have the appropriate inductions and ongoing guidance, while those supervising them follow best practice.

CIMS strive for diversity in our workforce, so we are seeking people with different life experiences to broaden our thinking and improve representation in the work we do. We particularly welcome applications from D/deaf, disabled and neurodivergent people, People of Colour and people from lower socio-economic backgrounds.

This post is funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund and is integral to the major redevelopment project, Ipswich Museum: Inspiring a New Generation
