Summary

We are looking for a reliable and experienced Van Driver to join our agency team. The Van Driver will be responsible for transporting goods and packages safely and efficiently to various destinations. The ideal candidate will have a valid driver’s license, excellent driving skills, and a strong commitment to punctual and professional service.

Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Operation:

Drive the company van to deliver goods and packages to specified locations.
Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the vehicle, adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the van is in good working condition.

Route Planning:

Plan and follow the most efficient routes for delivery.
Use navigation systems to monitor traffic conditions and avoid delays.
Adjust routes as necessary to meet delivery schedules and ensure timely deliveries.

Loading and Unloading:

Assist with loading and unloading goods and packages.
Ensure that cargo is secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
Handle goods carefully to avoid damage and ensure customer satisfaction.

Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including delivery notes, logbooks, and timesheets.
Ensure all paperwork is completed accurately and submitted on time.
Report any discrepancies or issues with deliveries to the supervisor.

Customer Service:

Interact with customers in a professional and courteous manner.
Address any inquiries or concerns from customers promptly and effectively.
Ensure customer satisfaction by providing reliable and efficient delivery services.

Vehicle Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance checks on the van, including checking oil, fuel, and other fluids.
Report any mechanical issues or needed repairs to the maintenance team.
Keep the van clean and in good condition, both inside and out.

Compliance and Safety:

Follow all health and safety regulations, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
Adhere to all legal requirements for drivers, including hours of service regulations.
Participate in safety training sessions and drills to stay updated on best practices.

Qualifications:

Education:
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience:

Previous experience as a van driver or in a similar role preferred.

Licenses:

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Skills:

Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
Excellent driving skills and attention to detail.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift and move heavy objects as needed.
Good physical condition and stamina to handle long hours of driving.
Manual dexterity and good hand-eye coordination.

Working Conditions:

The Van Driver will work primarily on the road, with some time spent at delivery sites and the company depot.
Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
May be required to work in various weather conditions.
