Crynodeb
The role of the Multi skilled Maintenance Engineer is to ensure all maintenance plans are achieved by ensuring that team members have the resources to complete the tasks required with maximum regard for the company policies on Health and Safety. Reactive breakdowns are attended in a timely manner to promote production continuity.
Scope of the role:
To meet the maintenance plan and effectively manage the department’s resources to ensure maximum efficiencies are achieved. Actively seek improvements to our systems and procedures and continually strive to improve the way the department operates.
Key Accountabilities:
• Promote team working and good communications, manage employee performance through review system and ensure compliance with the company’s handbook.
• Liaise with Production Manager, Team Leaders regarding a planned maintenance schedule to carry out preventative maintenance as is necessary to ensure that machinery and equipment is adequately maintained to prevent breakdowns.
• Promptly attend breakdowns and ensure tasks are prioritized with the aim of keeping downtime to a minimum. You must inform the Department Team Leader or Production Manager when a breakdown is completed and handed back to production
• Assess and order parts and equipment necessary to complete individual tasks.
• Liaise with outside contractors on scheduling machine maintenance and or building maintenance during normal and out of hours where required.
• Communicate all issues to the Maintenance Manager/Production Manager if those problems are likely to cause production to miss targets.
• Carry small works, building work task, utilities, service work periodical works.
• Carry workshop engineering duties such as but not exhaustive welding, grinding, cutting, milling, drilling, turning, tapping, adhesion, hardening, tooling repairs.
• Carry out fault finding, repairs, maintenance to array of machinery, hydraulic, pneumatic, electronic, mechanical and electrical
• Operate and maintain clean as you go methodology
• Attend college, training courses, peer training to build up knowledge and skills identified by the company to fulfil your role
• Available for call outs
• Carry out any other reasonable requests as required (such as working on the production line such as in paint line, operating/setting up machines, wet spray to identify the issue being reported to help fulfil targets. Carry out machine training for operation or maintenance)
The role at times may require:
• Producing prototype products for development and testing.
• Aiding with Product testing.
• Aiding with workshop issues and problems
• Helping prepare and attend fire tests
Typical office duties will be:
• Using the engineering filing system to locate drawings and other documentation.
• Saving and documenting the activities carried out; for example draft design or testing, reactive maintenance and pro-active maintenance.
