PA news agency are looking for a top-class reporter to be part of our brilliant team covering the House of Commons

The company provides customers across the media, sport, corporate, betting and public sectors with the broadest range of content,

About the role
You will be a key part of the PA news agency’ team of political specialists which is relied on by regional and national media. PA
are the only written media organisation that covers every House of Commons sitting and as part of PA’s press gallery team you will
be filing fast, accurate and fair copy on major stories from the Commons and occasionally, the House of Lords.
What you’ll need
* The ability able to handle big fast moving set pieces, spotting key news lines and filing news alerts where necessary.
* Be able to generate your own stories from a range of sources, develop your own contacts and work well within a small team.
* Be able to illustrate and promote your stories using social media and understand how online tools can complement other
reporting.
* The confidence to file off beat stories as well as breaking political news
* Be confident promoting your stories via social media and through broadcast interviews
You will also have an interest and knowledge of national politics, experience of political reporting at a national/regional level,
exceptional shorthand and an NCTJ or equivalent qualification!
