Job Title: Claims Handler
Job Description:
We are excited to announce multiple opportunities for an experienced Motor Claims Handler to join our expanding claims handling teams. These roles offer the chance to work across various areas such as own damage, third-party damage, third-party bodily injury, credit hire, and third-party intervention, with excellent prospects for career advancement.
As an experienced Motor Claims Handler, you will play a vital role in the insurance process, managing your own caseload efficiently and ensuring that claims are settled fairly, economically, and with exceptional customer service. We are seeking candidates with Motor Claims experience, ideally from an insurer or legal firm with RTA claims experience, and have previously worked for some of the Top 20 Insurances companies.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Make accurate policy decisions regarding indemnity and coverage, seeking guidance when necessary.
Review liability to ensure correct decisions are made and negotiate liability settlements where required.
Negotiate settlements for customer and third-party claims, including total loss, third-party property damage, and credit hire.
Ensure the recovery of claims outlay as necessary.
Maintain accurate reserves based on current information for all aspects of the claim within authority levels.
Appoint appropriate partner companies and monitor/manage their performance.
Communicate clearly with customers, third parties, and their representatives.
Handle telephone calls and complete any necessary actions resulting from them.
Manage own allocation of files within SLAs.
Contribute to team/department performance by assisting colleagues to meet team targets.
Process and/or authorize payments within authority levels.
Resolve all complaints and issues, preventing expressions of dissatisfaction from escalating into complaints.
Maintain data accuracy and files to agreed standards.
Question and challenge peers/managers where processes and procedures do not meet expectations.
Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure overall success.
Drive personal development by actively seeking opportunities.
Ensure compliance with all procedural and regulatory legislation required by FCA.
Take responsibility for actions and stay updated on all communications, processes, and procedures.
Adhere to company policies and procedures.
Actively promote and represent the group internally and externally.
Requirements:
Experience in motor insurance claims.
Experience in working for some of the Top 20 Insurance providers.
Good technical knowledge.
Confident telephone manner.
Previous customer service skills/experience.
Strong written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work using own initiative within boundaries.
Effective collaboration skills across various levels and responsibilities.
Good IT/keyboard skills.
Strong numeric skills.
Work Hours:
Start Time: 08:00
End Time: 18:00
Hybrid working for experienced candidates: 3 days at home, 2 in the office, with rotating office days.
