Our client a Leading Oil and Gas Operator based in Aberdeen are currently recruiting for a Materials and Inventory Manager to join their team on a permanent basis. Job Profile Summary
The Materials & Inventory Lead is responsible for the full lifecycle of materials and inventory, from defining long-term strategy to
managing day-to-day operations. The role develops and implements policies, oversees warehouses and storage facilities, manages
supplier contracts, and leads a team to ensure efficient service. The role also ensures compliance with regulations and supports
audits, while driving best practices within inventory systems and training staff.
Accountabilities and Responsibilities
• Define, develop and implement long term material and inventory strategy, standards, policies and procedures and
ensuring compliance
• Manage onshore and offshore warehouses and stores
• Manage key contracts covering long term storage and warehousing
• Effectively lead and manage the team in line with business requirements ensuring an efficient service delivery to both
internal and external stakeholders
• Manage all company owned inventory and associated activities, including, but not limited to - identifying, recording,
coding, procurement, storage, preservation, stock-checking and ultimate control and optimization of all Company owned
assets’ inventory
• Support and comply with regulatory, audit or shareholder information requests
• Drive best practice within the ERP systems, and establish and maintain processes covering training, mentoring and
coaching
• Oversee the Material & Inventory Controllers, ensuring they follow approved processes and procedures for inventory
utilization and material tracking
• Technical Contract Owner of the Warehouse services contract ensuring high contractor performance in HSE and
Operational KPIs
• Ensure appropriate inventory levels for asset/division and identify synergies across assets through a portfolio approach
• Responsible for regular stock checks at operated and third party sites ensuring high count accuracy
• Work with shutdown teams to ensure Inventory stock availability is known and storage and preservation plans are in place
• Manage critical equipment spares in combination with appropriate asset and functional technical focal points
• Provide leadership and set expectations, coach and mentor subordinates on acceptable attitudes, behaviours and working
practices
• Ensure robust processes are in place that support appropriate stock replenishment levels through an MRP process
integrated with requirement, consumption and procurement
• Responsible for releasing work orders from maximo covering or supporting the cataloguer
Professional Skills and Experiences
• 10 years of extensive SCM experience in Oil & Gas industry
• Proven track record in Materials Management, Inventory Management, and Warehousing Operations
• Expertise in ERP/EAMS systems like SAP and Maximo, along with other SCM systems
• Proficient in UKCS Materials Management, including team leadership and personnel development
Educational Qualification certifications
• Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related fields
• Certified in CIPS, CSCP, PMP, CPSM etc. are preferred
Other Requirements
• The role may require travelling offshore for certain business requirements
• The role may require frequent visits to warehouses for certain business requirement
