1 Year Fixed Term based at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust.

This is a new post in the Medical Education department, which will play an integral part, in developing new and supporting existing programmes to improve the quality of education in the Trust. The post also offers a broad range of exposure across the Medical Director’s office with a range of leadership opportunities available.

The priority workstreams established for postgraduate medical education for this year as a result of national and local directives have been identified as:
• · Exploring and mapping capacity for our clinical placements for medical students, developing a proposal to expand numbers and evaluate the delivery model
• · Reviewing current digital teaching technologies and explore solutions to enable education delivery to become more agile and respond to learner needs.
• · Reviewing our workforce development programmes, including CESR and core surgery equivalence, and provide support for teaching and simulation.
• · Refresh/improve the community outreach programme, working closely with the clinical lead and Imperial College London Widening Participation team.

It is anticipated that the post-holder will work closely with the Chief Registrars and Senior Specialty Trainee network, ensuring junior doctors are represented at relevant forums/committees.

Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) is committed to improving the quality of education and has a dedicated team of medical and non-medical staff responsible for delivering the medical education

strategy. Over the coming year we intend to focus on developing a program of work which supports the education and training interventions that best meet the needs of our learners, educators and patients.

This fellowship is an excellent opportunity for a junior doctor, who is interested in developing their education portfolio, to significantly develop their management skills and understanding of the operational management of medical education in a large, complex Trust. This post will allow the post-holder to develop skills in project design, management, leadership, delivery and support of teaching programmes as well as project assessment.
