Location: Grimsby, Northeast Lincolnshire

Hours: 37 Per week (Full-time)

Contract: Permanent

As a Warrants Officer, you will be on the front line of policing. As part of team, it will be your job to track, arrest and process people outstanding for failing to appear at court. You will play a key part in ensuring our communities are kept safe by ensuring those people who fail to attend court are brought before the judicial system. It can be a demanding role, with people attempting to evade capture by various means, so there is a necessity for those applying to be confident in dealing with conflict.

Key Responsibilities:

Conducts risk assessments in relation to carrying out the execution of Warrants.
Receives intelligence/information from members of the public and external agencies and actively responds when necessary, ensuring relevant protocols are adhered to.
The arrest of all persons wanted on Fail to Appear Warrants.
Attending regular officer safety training, to be made aware of the use of handcuff and restraint techniques.
Input and extract data/information from the Warrants Management System.
Liaises with external agencies such as Crown Prosecution Service, Magistrates and Crown Court and the National Probation Service to achieve an effective partnership and working arrangements.

What the role requires:

Experience of working with courts/CPS/Criminal Justice.
Experience of working with the public, including problem solving and dealing with potential conflict situations.
Confident and mature manner.
Current full driving licence and will be expected to pass a Police Driving Test.
Literate and Numerate and educated to GCSE standard or equivalent.
Good oral and written communication skills to deal with internal and external matters.
General computer literacy.

Pre – Employment Checks and Eligibility:

Internal applicants MUST have completed a successful 6 month probationary period and tenure (if applicable) before applying for another role within the force.
Applicants must meet the minimum requirement checkable history criteria of at least 3 years continuous residency in the UK to apply for roles with Humberside Police.
Successful candidates will undergo a vetting procedure pre-requisite of employment.
