About the school:

Holy Cross High School is a Roman Catholic comprehensive school serving the Hamilton area, with a roll of 1,450 pupils.

Our aim is to raise the aspirations and motivation of our young people so they may achieve the highest standards possible during their time with us. As a Catholic School, Holy Cross High School offers our young people a learning environment which is conducive to spiritual growth and which is characterised by mutual respect and gospel values.

The school is a community in which everyone works in partnership to provide an education of the highest quality. Staff have very strong relationships with parents and are dedicated to ensuring that all pupils are nurtured and supported while equipping them with the necessary skills for a full and productive life.

The Depute Head Teacher is required to:

Assist the Head Teacher in the overall management of the school as part of a Management Team.

Deputise for the Head Teacher in their absence and have responsibility for the leadership, good management and strategic direction of colleagues.

South Lanarkshire Council schools have recently undergone an £800m+ modernisation programme.

The aim of this programme is simple - to create high quality additional support needs and primary and secondary provision in South Lanarkshire - fit for the twenty first century.

During this time we have built and modernised numerous Primary and Secondary Schools.

It is our mission to make positive meaningful changes in the lives of young people. We aim to provide an exceptional learning and working environment for pupils and staff and work in partnership with parents, support staff and other professionals.

We are now inviting applications from Fully Qualified (GTC) Secondary Teachers.

You will assist in the delivery of the curriculum and contribute to whole school initiatives, as appropriate and will carry out the range of duties outlined in Annexe B of "A Teaching Profession for the 21st Century".
