An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a highly, experienced senior registered nurse to join a very busy acute respiratory ward based at Liverpool university hospital-Aintree as a Band 7 Ward Nurse Manager.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate previous substantive experience of working at at a band 6/7 level, must have an experience looking after patients with a tracheostomy, chest drain management, Airvo management and Non invasive ventilation skills. They also have to display motivation and skills to lead and develop the current existing team in collaboration with senior nursing and organisational staff. Excellent communication and leadership skills are a must.

Key responsibilities will include the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care, effective leadership and staff management/development. The post holder will always work within the NMC's Code of Professional Conduct.

We are looking to recruit dedicated and highly motivated individuals who are passionate about providing high quality and compassionate care to our respiratory patients. We are looking for aspiring clinical leaders who will demonstrate role modelling, empowerment, and support to our clinical team. As Ward Manager in the provision of clinical leadership, leading and implementing change, clinical and managerial supervision, teaching, staff development and recruitment.

-Co-ordination of the ward on a day to day basis including planning, allocation and evaluation of work carried out by teams or individuals and self.

-Provide specialist knowledge to all Nursing staff on the ward Will promote a critical, analytical approach to the delivery of nursing care ensuring that the ward environment is responsive to current issues.

-Ensure that all existing procedures and protocols relating to the care of patients are reviewed and updated as required.

- Develop methods for identifying, maintaining and improving the quality of patient care through facilitation of best practice and clinical benchmarking.

-Ensure due regard is given to the customs, values and spiritual beliefs of patients/clients.

-Explore and undertake expanded practice to optimise patient care as required within specialist area, in accordance with Trust policies.

-Exercise strong and effective leadership acting as an exemplary role model.

-Maintain adequate staff cover and skill mix on the ward through effective use of staffing rotas

-Support the implementation of the Trusts Strategy for Nursing at
ward/department level
