CSC Parental Substance Misuse Practitioner
Full Time - 2 Year Fixed term Contract, Working across both services at Insight Lewisham, successful Candidate must be willing to travel.

To work as part of a Primary Care Substance Misuse Team to deliver timely assessments, care planning and evidenced based health and psychosocial care interventions to the adult population in Lewisham with Substance Misuse Needs.

The successful candidate will join a newly established and innovative multi-agency team led by Lewisham Children’s Social Care, providing integrated mental health, substance misuse and family support for parents of children on statutory Child in Need plans.

The overall aim of this team is to improve the safety and wellbeing of children affected by the substance use and mental health needs of their parents and carers. This will be achieved through providing support to parents to ensure that substance misuse no longer impacts on their ability to care for their child, and to improve their mental health and wellbeing, including by addressing the underlying trauma that may be contributing to their substance misuse.
The successful candidate will have a key role in this team through providing assessments, care planning and evidenced based health and psychosocial care interventions to parents within the caseload. We are looking for an individual with a particular interest in working with adults also impacted by drug and/or alcohol misuse.

Whilst the post will sit within the Substance Misuse Team it provides an exciting opportunity to work jointly with Lewisham Children’s Social Care and Mental Health Service. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to interface directly with partner agencies including Primary Care, Secondary Care and MIND to ensure effective service delivery and discharge planning.

We are looking for an experienced Substance Misuse practitioner with excellent assessment skills to undertake our Triage and Trusted assessment to ensure our patients receive the right care at the right time.

The person:
Must be experienced working with adults effected with substance misuse.
Experienced working in partnership with statutory services, e.g. Children and Family services.
Strong knowledge of safeguarding children and young people.
Be willing to travel across the Boroughs.
