Crynodeb
The Housing Investment Service is responsible for the management and delivery of responsive and cyclical maintenance, planned improvement works and refurbishment schemes to a stock of 24,000 domestic properties, garages and associated buildings and surroundings. As a social landlord, we are particularly focussed on providing a tenant led service, based on individual needs to support persons living in our home.
The service is structured around key delivery areas, with teams responsible for Responsive Repairs, Voids, Gas Servicing & Repairs, Electrical, Planned Improvements, Asbestos, H&S, Asset Management, Finance, Customer Engagement, Contract Support, Home Ownership and Claims. All teams work closely together to provide a uniform and consistent service for all our customers and stakeholders.
The Service is responsible for an annual revenue maintenance budget of c£27m and an annual capital improvement programme in excess of c£55m, both of which aim to actively keep properties in good repair and reduce disrepair, fire safety risks, repairs and disruption for our customers, whilst ensuring ongoing compliance with all relevant building, fire, gas and landlord regulations and associated legislation.
The Jobs
Multiple exciting opportunities have arisen for enthusiastic and knowledgeable housing professionals with building and/or construction experience who can make a difference to our residents and their homes.
We are looking to appoint into the roles of Project Surveyors who will work as part of a customer focused team and support all areas of the Housing Investment and Housing Service to ensure that our residents have a safe, energy efficient home.
The core tasks of these posts are;-
Pre and post technical Inspections.
Organising, controlling and planning repairs and delivering planned work programmes
Technical inspections including Damp & Mould and evaluating properties to the Decent Homes Standard
Carrying out risk-based evaluation in line with the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS)
Delivering work within the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. (CDM15)
You will be expected to transport yourself throughout the city to undertake site inspections and will ideally have experience of surveying residential properties.
The post holder must be flexible to ensure the operational needs of the Council are met. This includes the undertaking of duties of a similar nature and responsibility as and when required, throughout the various workplaces in the Council.
The roles available are in multiple areas of the teams within Housing Investment including Asset Management, Planned Works, Specialist Works and Building Safety.
There are three full-time, permanent roles, 37 hours per week. These posts include a generous benefits package for working for Hull City Council, including the ability to work from home for part of the week via hybrid working arrangements.
