This role includes:

· Implement and evaluate the Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards to maintain Imperial’s accreditation.

· Supporting patients and staff with clinical challenges relating to infant feeding, this may include reviewing and developing feeding plans for inpatients.

· Monitoring and auditing the effectiveness of the BFI standards through staff and patient audits.

• · Support the Infant Feeding Leads with implementing the Baby Friendly Initiative (BFI) standards in each clinical area.

· To facilitate the development, introduction and monitoring of policies and guidelines related to infant feeding.

· Assist the Infant Feeding Leads in the implementation and monitoring of the infant feeding staff education programme.

· Organise and facilitate the antenatal infant feeding education of mothers/birthing people and support them in their chosen method of feeding.

· Support for multi-disciplinary staff facing clinical challenges related to infant feeding, this may include reviewing feeding plans for inpatient patients.

· Facilitate the organisation and delivery of practical skills reviews and key breastfeeding skills for relevant staff and maintain a database that records such training.

· To ensure there are appropriate resources for patients with up-to-date evidence-based information.

· To participate in the process of audit, research and implementation of change and to support and undertake the audit and reporting of best practice.

· Lead with the Specialist Midwife in facilitating team meetings and study sessions to build a cohesive team to execute evidence-based practice in promotion of infant feeding.

· To be responsible, with management support, for their own personal development and to actively contribute to the development of colleagues.
