You will assist with the maintenance and day-to-day running of all fixed plant and machinery to best practice standards, ensuring that equipment reliability is maximised and that production is maintained at the highest possible level.

Working hours are Rotational shifts of 6.00 am to 2.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 10.00 pm M&F. 40hrs paid.

Pay is £12.04 phr

Key Responsibilities Immediately respond to and assist in the correction of plant breakdowns Responsible for the repair of plant machinery and the maintenance of plant facilities, tooling and equipment Identify and bring to the attention of Site Management, opportunities for improving the reliability, efficiency and performance of site equipment. Provide technical support to Supervisors in plant operation Assisting in the operation of the Site to ensure plant availability and production is maintained at the highest possible level Committed to achieving plant availability and production targets Comply with legislation and company standards. Perform such other duties as the Company may from time to time reasonably require Comply with all Company policies related to Code of Conduct, Environmental, Health and Safety and Community Key Skills/Competencies Exceptional organisational skills High level of attention to detail and accuracy Excellent interpersonal skills Self-motivated, flexible and adaptable Integrity and confidentiality Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to work in fast moving, ever changing production environment Ability to work as part of multi-disciplined team and also on own initiative Logical approach to practical problem solving Basic welding/fabrication skills Qualifications Experience in medium to heavy industry Knowledge of health and safety FLT Licence an advantage Welding/fabricating experience and qualifications would be an advantage Time served apprenticeship or equivalent required Electrical qualifications an advantage With a promote-from-within philosophy and a variety of programs available to support continuous learning, Sims offers the opportunity for a rewarding career.
