An exciting position has arisen for an innovative Ward Manager to lead our 18 bedded Acute Cardiology Ward incorporating high care beds here at Fairfield General Hospital, joining a dynamic, enthusiastic and professional team that strives for cardiology excellence.
The successful applicant will lead and manage the team to deliver high quality care, efficient patient pathways and maintain safe clinical environments with 24 hour responsibility for safe staffing.
They will have extensive proven experience of Cardiology andproven experience being in a senior leadership role.
They will be key in the delivery of safe, effective and high quality care to patients with both acute and chronic cardiac conditions. They will lead by example and have excellent organisational skills as well as being an effective communicator.
They will guide their team through change to develop the Cardiology service in line with the Trust vision supporting positive patient outcomes and service improvements.
The successful applicant will take responsibility for the management of all staff within the ward and support the trust values, including specific induction, appraisals, production of rosters, recruitment and retention, performance management and continuous training and development of staff. They will ensure that sickness and absence is managed according to policy and escalate accordingly. Always acting as a visible role model. Ensuring flow through to the Acute Cardiology Ward is streamlined.

This vacancy is open to those who have a current NMC PIN to practice as an Registered Nurse or Midwife in the UK, or those who are currently enrolled on a course which means they expect to receive their full NMC PIN within the next 3 months. Please note an NMC PRN PIN is not a full NMC PIN and would not fulfil the essential criteria for this role.
The NCA can no longer accept applications from International Nurses and Midwives who are yet to complete all competencies needed to receive a full NMC PIN to practice in the UK as we have paused our OSCE programme indefinitely.
