Do you aspire to be a Nursing and Midwifery leader of the future?

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Workforce, Training & Education Team, NHS England as a Senior Clinical Manager, to help manage a range of existing and future nursing & midwifery work-streams across the East of England.

We are looking for a highly motivated Senior Clinical Manager with a good understanding and experience in working with organisations to increase the skills and numbers of the nursing and midwifery workforce, with direct knowledge of the agenda

You will support the delivery across a number of key nursing and midwifery workforce priorities at National, Regional and Sub-regional level working closely with our six Integrated Care Boards and other teams within NHS England, to deliver a programme of work supporting the Long Term Workforce Plan around Recruit, Retain and reform, which will include:



· Expansion of the pre-registration undergraduate / postgraduate nursing and midwifery programmes

· Supporting the supply and retention of pre-registration students

· Supporting return to practice

· Expansion of the nursing associate role

· Transformation of the maternity workforce

· Reducing health care support worker vacancies.

• Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
• Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
• Delivering value for money.

Colleagues with a contractual office base are expected to spend, on average, at least 40% of their time working in-person.

The post holder will lead on projects working collaboratively with key external stakeholders to deliver innovative new approaches to education, training, workforce and employment models.

To be successful in this post we are looking for an applicant who is self-motivated and has:

· Extensive knowledge of specialist area acquired through postgraduate education or equivalent experience.

· Knowledge of healthcare education and workforce issues.

· Ability to report to provide assurance and performance data to both national and regional senior stakeholders.

· Ability to work in an agile manner, autonomously, flexibly and manage competing priorities.

· Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.

· Ability to demonstrate strong communication and negotiating skills with external organisations/stakeholders.
