Summary

Production Operative

Blackburn

Monday to Friday 8.00-16.30

Ideal Recruit are currently looking for an experienced Production Operative who has a solid background within the manufacturing industry and is looking for a new challenge. My client is a specialist in design and manufacturing, based in Blackburn who are expanding their production team. From the moment you join the business, you'll be hands on within the operations team

Key Responsibilities:

Screen Printing Metal Plates

Preparing Screens: Setting up and aligning screens and stencils according to job specifications.
Mixing Inks: Selecting and mixing inks to match the desired colours and ensure proper consistency.
Printing: Operating screen-printing machines to transfer designs onto metal plates, ensuring precision and quality.
Quality Control: Inspecting printed plates for defects, ensuring alignment and colour accuracy.
Maintenance: Cleaning screens, tools, and equipment after use, and performing routine maintenance on machinery.

Deburring

Inspecting Parts: Checking metal parts for rough edges, burrs, and excess material.
Using Tools: Employing hand tools (files, sanders, deburring knives) or power tools (grinders, deburring machines) to smooth and finish edges.
Quality Assurance: Ensuring finished parts meet quality standards and specifications.
Safety Procedures: Following safety protocols to prevent injuries while using sharp tools and machinery.

General Warehouse Duties

Receiving Shipments: Unloading and inspecting incoming shipments, verifying contents against purchase orders.
Storing Goods: Organising and storing materials in designated areas within the warehouse.
Inventory Control: Conducting regular inventory checks and maintaining accurate stock records.
Order Fulfilment: Picking items from inventory to fulfil orders, packing them securely, and preparing them for shipment.
Housekeeping: Keeping the warehouse clean and organised, ensuring pathways are clear and safety protocols are followed.

Experience/Skills:

• The successful applicant needs to be dynamic, hands-on, capable of working under pressure whilst remaining calm, with strong skills in problem solving and communication.
• Have experience working within a fast-paced manufacturing organisation
• You will be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision, be meticulous with details and have good planning and organisation skills.
• You must have good numeracy and IT skills and have great communication skills, both written and verbal.
