Step into an exhilarating opportunity as we seek an experienced Band 6 sister/charge nurse to take the reins as Ward Manager.

We're in search of a skilled and self-motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic environment within a serene and welcoming setting. Nestled in the picturesque Garston area of Watford lies the Holywell Rehabilitation Unit, housed within the Langley House Community Hospital. This 20-bedded ward specialises in the intricate realms of Neuro and Stroke Rehabilitation, serving as a beacon of hope for those and their families on the path to recovery. Holywell is one of the four Hertfordshire Bedded Units and we are proud to all work in unison to provide good safe and holistic patient care to the residents of West Hertfordshire.

At the heart of our ethos lies a commitment to delivering impeccable nursing care and rehabilitation, catering to individuals who have undergone life-altering experiences such as strokes, brain tumours, or significant accidents.

Our cohesive multidisciplinary team, composed of dedicated nurses, healthcare assistants, therapists, and specialists, collaborates seamlessly to craft personalised goals and plans, striving for nothing short of realistic yet exceptional outcomes. Join us in making a meaningful impact while experiencing the fulfilment of working alongside a great team.

• To have an oversight or day to day running of the unit, including therapy.
• To manage all nursing and HCA staff on the ward. This includes delegating management roles to senior nurses within the team.
• To plan and set objectives with staff and monitor this through the appraisal system.
• To monitor the use of bank and agency staff used, liaising with Temporary Staffing Service as appropriate. Be able to correlate figures showing weekly usage.
• To manage staff sickness/absence levels and ensure referral of staff to the Employee Health Department as appropriate. Take the required action through processes outlined in the CLCH Sickness Absence policy and with the involvement of HR.
