Aimbridge Hospitality EMEA are looking to recruit an experienced Chef de Cuisine for an exciting new restaurant in central Leeds.

Located atop the brand-new Hyatt Place in Sovereign square, Azotea is culturally Latin, inspired by the vast geographical landscape, architecture, fun loving people, and local traditions.

A day in the life of…

You would be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the kitchen's operations, including managing inventory, ordering supplies and be a strategic partner to the business with input into the overall P&L of the restaurant.

You’ll have the opportunity to be responsible for creating menus that showcase the unique flavours and cooking techniques of Latin cuisine. Working alongside established menu plans, but also using your experience of upscaling casual menus to execute exciting new opportunities and dishes, whilst ensuring exceptional food quality.

You’ll forge a close bond with this brand-new team, working to put together extensive training guides, utilising your enthusiasm for culinary excellence to facilitate these.

What do we need from you?

We’re looking for someone with the passion and expertise to develop latin inspired menus and inspire and train a team through pre-opening to doors open and beyond.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in Latin cuisine, (preferably from a high volume and preopening background) and a passion for creating unique and delicious dishes. You will have a strong understanding of the flavours and cooking techniques that make Latin cuisine so special, and you will be able to use that knowledge to create an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.

In addition to your culinary expertise, you’ll have exceptional leadership and communication skills, with an ability to create and facilitate staff training.

You’ll be performance driven and a champion of team culture, able to motivate and inspire your team to deliver exceptional food quality, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and senior stakeholders alike to help form marketing strategies with the onsite commercial team.
