Crynodeb

We are excited to welcome a Consultant in Acute Medicine to join our enthusiastic and dynamic group of Acute Physicians at Frimley Health Foundation NHS Trust.

You will join a team of 6 acute medical consultants (equating to 5 WTEs) and at a stage where we are looking to expand our service.

The current acute medicine service spans across:

64 beds, the Acute Medical Unit comprises of a 34 bedded medical short stay unit (MSSU) and 34 bedded assessment unit (AAU)

Consultant led AECU

In-reach into the Emergency Department.

Acute Medicine consultants currently rotate through AECU, AAU, MSSU and post-take in-reach into ED shifts.

Other speciality teams work closely with the acute medical team with a chest pain in-reach service from cardiology 7 days a week and an acute frailty service supporting referrals directly from the ED and AAU/MSSU. We have a 24 hour primary PCI which have direct access pathways.

The annualised rota would equate to a 10PA/week on average with participation in the general medicine on-call rota. This is a 1:8 weekend commitment which includes ward rounds on AAU & MSSU and post-taking in ED.

We offer a competitive relocation package for those wishing to relocate for this opportunity.

The expansion will allow a restructure of the current working pattern below and therefore is subject to change, but the current roles and PA allocation is noted below.

The appointees will be provided with office space and excellent secretarial support.

The job plan will be offered as 10 PAs although there may be opportunities to increase or decrease the number of PAs by discussion and mutual agreement.

The 10/11 PAs will comprise follows:

· Direct Clinical Care 8/9 PAs incl. weekend rota

· Supporting Professional Activities 2 PAs
