This award-winning full service city law firm specialises in legal services to domestic and international high-net-worth private individuals and families, family offices and commercial clients, and is ranked in the legal directories for several practice areas. The firm is well known for building very strong client relationships, often spanning several generations. The firm comprises of 40+ partners and 200+ staff members.

The Employment Law Department currently consists of 3 Partners, 2 Senior Associates, 2 Associates, 1 Trainee Solicitor, and 1 Legal Assistant, as well as other support staff. The team's lawyers advise both employers and employee on the full range of contentious and non-contentious matters. Clients range from smaller owner managed businesses to FTSE companies, as well as business leaders to HR professionals in a variety of sectors including financial services, TV, motorsport, retail, and insurance, to name a few.

As part of the role, you will be focused on advising on a wide range of employment issues, and undertaking a variety of contentious and non-contentious work including:

  • Reorganisations ;
  • Disciplinaries and grievances ;
  • M&A transactional work, due diligence and corporate support;
  • Drafting employment contracts, staff handbooks, consultancy agreements, NDAs, settlement agreements etc;
  • TUPE;
  • Employment status;
  • Day to day advice on employment law issues; and
  • Tribunal / Court work
  • Some experience of Employment Tribunal process.
  • A focus on having had experience in advising employer clients is essential. Some experience in having advised individual clients would be helpful.
  • Someone who is able to make decisions, advise clients and act with a degree of autonomy (with appropriate support).

The ideal candidate will have between 2-6 years' PQE. You will have contentious and non-contentious experience and ideally will have acted for both employers and senior employees. You will have strong academics and have gained quality training and experience gained at a highly regarded City or regional practice.
