Job Vacancy

This role is part of a project which is a UKSPF (UK shared prosperity fund) funded programme. The project will support young autistic adults to transition from education and prepare them to take their next steps. The worker will, with support, develop and deliver local networks to support the transition of young adults with autism to develop life skills and prepare for moving on in their lives.

The development of the groupwork programme is very flexible and is likely to contain in person and online programmes. Training will be given in the online tools we use.

It is essential that the postholder has one or more qualification at SCQF Level 8 (or higher) or equivalent work experience/ qualifications in Community Education or Teaching or Employability or Social Policy or equivalent relevant communities and lifelong learning experience including trade certificates.

Contract Status: Fixed Term until 31.03.2025

Hours of Work: 12 hours per week

Working Pattern: Potentially 4 hours per day/3 days per week - TBC

Weeks per year: 52

Please note that it is Midlothian Councils policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.

Based on 12 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £12,103.67 per annum.

Requirements

This post is considered Regulated Work with Children & Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with children and/or adults.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Children and Adults, You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by you.
