Hours = Casual (Seasonal)
Purpose of job: The role of the Pier Attendant is to oversee the safe and efficient use of the pontoons by leisure users, collect mooring charges from visiting yachts and to be community ambassadors, providing support to visitors and users of the Pier.
Principle Accountabilities
1. Oversee the day-to-day operation of the pontoons and pier.
2. Collect mooring fees from visiting yachts, handling both cash and credit card payments, and record transactions in line with Authority policy.
3. Answer queries from yachtsmen, fishermen and commercial operators using the pontoons.
4. Support the general public by answering enquiries and providing information where possible.
5. Inspect lifesaving equipment and ensure any issues are reported to the ESG Director in a timely manner.
6. Implement Health and Safety procedures to ensure safety of pier users.
7. Report incidents, including misconduct (e.g. children swimming off pier) in accordance with the Authority’s procedures.
8. Undertake a caretaking role to ensure that the area is kept clean, safe and tidy.
9. Undertake other related duties as required.
10. Support the Authority’s ESG Strategy.
