We're the UK’s largest producer of low-carbon electricity, the biggest supplier of electricity by volume in Great Britain, the largest supplier to British businesses and we employ more than 13,000 people. We operate nuclear, coal and gas power stations, wind farms, and combined heat & power plants. We have a focus on safe, dependable energy generation and an ethos of service excellence. We are playing a leading role in new nuclear build in the UK to secure a bright future for the combined business and its employees.
If you’re an experienced HR professional looking for an exciting new opportunity, at Sizewell B Power Station we might have just the job for you! Are you adept at working in partnership with line managers, providing professional advice and direction every day on key topics? Can you provide commercial HR solutions and operational support to implement business plans and improve business performance? This role might just be for you!

The opportunity

We have a fixed term, 18-month HR Business Partner role, working with our team of on-site HR colleagues on a variety of key HR functions. The role will range from reward to organisational design, executive management support to recruitment – and everything in between!

The HR function has a flexible approach to working, so although we spend most of our time on site at the power station, working from home is absolutely available to everyone.

Pay, benefits and culture

We can offer a competitive salary from £55,000
- £65,000 and you’ll be appointed based on the parameters outlined in the Nuclear Generation Company Agreement as well as your existing salary, competence, experience and qualifications.
At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself.  We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion.  We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

What you’ll be doing

Some of the key responsibilities for this role include:

- Providing support and guidance to stakeholders across the station on matters such as employee services, recruitment and performance management
- Executing reward, development and organisational design plans with your teams, ensuring they are relevant for the business priorities and that key stakeholders are kept up to date throughout
- Leading discussions on the impact of our diversity and inclusion plans, which you’ll need to consider through everyday guidance as well as future planning
- Working with the Recruitment team, you’ll be developing the requirements that Sizewell B Power Station will need through talent and succession mapping.

Who you are

You should be a member of CIPD with HNC as a minimum qualification or CIPD equivalent (Level 7). We’d want to see proven experience of working in a progressive HR, people management and unionised environment. You should be commercially minded and pragmatic in your application of HR best practice and able to deliver high quality HR generalist support, including extensive knowledge of appropriate employment law and HR best practices and their pragmatic application.

You’ll need to demonstrate knowledge and understanding in the areas of change and strategic consulting, performance management, reward management, people development, talent management resourcing and ER/engagement. The ability to coach line managers and influence as appropriate to ensure successful outcomes is important, as is analysing and presenting data in a creative way. You should have the credibility to influence and successfully challenge line managers.

To be appointed to this role, you will need to meet the criteria for Security Vetting which will, ordinarily, require you to have been a resident of the UK for at least 3 of the last 5 years.
