Landmarc Support Services is currently seeking to recruit a Training Area Operative at Garelochhead Training Camp, Scotland.

As the Training Area Operative, you will play a key part in helping to maintain a safe, efficient and sustainable place for our Armed Forces to train, this pivotal role is essential to the delivery of the contract.

We are looking for someone who either has previous knowledge of working on the Defence Training Estate or someone who is keen to learn new skills and bring an enthusiastic willingness to learn, Landmarc will provide full training for the successful applicant.

You will be required to work flexibly over the course of a 37 hour working week. You will be required to work some weekends, this is reflected in our Variable Days Allowance.

Hours of work - 37 Hours per week

Days of work - 5 in 7

Contract - Permanent

You will be on a starting salary of £25,356.20 per annum, once you have completed successful probation and have the required skills for the role your salary will increase. This will usually be completed within 12 months.

Main Responsibilities

Handover/take back of facilities and or ranges with service users and completion of relevant documentation

Maintenance and setting up of firing ranges

Construction of targets for range use

Preventative and Reactive maintenance tasks on ranges, training area, rural & built estate

Grounds maintenance such as fencing, mowing and strimming

Potential for forestry work such as removal of fallen trees – training will be provided

Operation and maintenance of plant and equipment – training will be provided

Driving and operating fleet vehicles

To ensure that the Training Estate Facilities adhere to safe systems of work

General housekeeping/cleaning including cleaning of bookable accommodation when required

The Ideal Candidate

Excellent communication skills with people on all levels

Have a full manual driver’s licence valid in the United Kingdom (essential)

Knowledge of health and safety; risk assessments, manual handling and COSHH

Basic IT skills

Willingness to undertake full training

Basic DIY skills
