Crynodeb

Many patients who have had Covid -19 have been left with a range of ongoing physical health complications. Around 33% of people infected also have psychological or neuropsychological concerns associated with their health. Patients are often depressed or anxious due to their new long term condition, have cognitive difficulties as a result of their illness, or trauma symptoms such as Post ICU Syndrome. These affect people of all ages and backgrounds.

Our Trust-wide service offers psychological support for patients with complex physical and mental health presentations as a result of post-COVID Syndrome. This small team works across the Trust footprint, with therapists based in each of our 5 Pennine Care boroughs. We are looking for a candidates to be predominantly based in our Oldham borough, who has experience of working with long-term health conditions, and ideally those with a core qualification. We will also consider applications from CBT therapists wanting to develop skills in working with physical health.

Due to the discontinuation of COVID testing, the service will continue to operate under a broader service criteria than Post-Covid which is currently being developed.

Based in Oldham working both face to face and online, the therapist will link into the locality integrated physical health and mental health MDTs for post-COVID rehabilitation.

As a mental health representative in the wider multidisciplinary MDT, you will be a source of advice and consultation for our physical health colleagues in supporting care pathways to meet the mental health needs of patients presenting to the service.

Post holders will carry a caseload of patients with comorbid physical and psychological difficulties, offering assessment, formulation of care and therapy.

We are proud to provide high quality mental health and learning disability services, both inpatient and in the community across five boroughs of Greater Manchester - Bury, Oldham, Rochdale, Stockport and Tameside and Glossop.

Our vision is for a happier and more hopeful life for everyone in our communities and our staff work hard to deliver the very best care for the people who use our services. Were really proud of our #PennineCarePeople and do everything we can to make sure were a great place to work.
