A Vacancy at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust.


Cross Bay role therefore applicants can work some hours at their chosen site. Travel to other sites may be be required to support services.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Pharmacy Technician to support and further develop Specialist services (homecare and Oncology) for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay.

You must be a qualified (GPhC registered) Pharmacy Technician, be competent, able to prioritise work and have the ability to implement change as well as manage and develop services.

Applicants will be committed to improving patient care and delivering a high quality pharmacy service.

Ensure Bluteq compliance across the specialities enabling timely access to medicines

Implement service improvements and expansion within the Homecare speciality

Identify and implement improvements within Oncology technical service to support increased capacity and demand

Take a lead role in providing assurance for safe and effective medicines service delivery

Actively promote early adoption of biosimilar switches, supporting the financial requirements for the service.



We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.

FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.

WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.

All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
