The successful candidate will support the implementation of, and then oversee the maintenance, service and further development of the new networked Pathology IT systems for Kent and Medway Pathology Network (KMPN). This includes a Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), the GP & Community Order Communications system and other digital solutions, for KMPN across multiple organisations.

This role sits at Pathology Network level and is intended to, at an appropriate time in the networks development, manage the lab-based Pathology IT managers. The role is hosted by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells but operationally supported by East Kent Hospitals Foundation Trust as this is where the IT contracts are hosted.

The postholder will ensure maximum availability, reliability and performance from the systems, and work with suppliers and internal stakeholders so that they continue to meet KMPN requirements as a developing network. The postholder will lead the development of a new service model of Pathology IT for the developing KMPN, including determining what the requirements are from a single Pathology IT function across the network.

In this year's NHS staff survey, our employees voted MTW in the top 10 NHS Trusts nationwide and second in the South East of Trusts to work for.

Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust is a large acute hospital Trust in the county of Kent.

The Trust provides a full range of general hospital services and some areas of specialist complex care to around 760,000 people living in the south part of West Kent and the north part of East Sussex.

The Trust’s core catchment areas are Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells and their surrounding boroughs. We work from two main clinical sites: Maidstone Hospital and Tunbridge Wells Hospital at Pembury.
